There are things concerning yourself we want to share with you, but right now we can’t. Let’s just say all that “record-keeping” business you thought was just you being meticulous is actually standard anchoring protocol. It keeps the screws from coming loose when things start bending sideways and by golly, do they BEND! All joking aside, you probably thought you were just taking notes on some cockeyed creative process, but you’ve actually been sending instructions backward through the timeline so you could find your way to the point where you are reading this memo.

You see, when you’re plying our particular trade, you realize quickly that standard-issue memory is a ramshackle filing system. Things get mixed up. Dates wander off. Important addresses get replaced by commercial jingles from the 90s. Ask a fellow what he had for supper yesterday and he’ll just stare at you like you’ve asked him to tune a piano with a spoon! So around these parts, we specialize in something the boys upstairs call Re-Cognition, in The Travel Agency sense. That is, becoming capable of knowing something again. And we do this by embedding strategically placed reminders (It’s your job to notice them, see?) in the architecture of the continuum. These special packets have a peculiar quality which veteran Agents describe as vibrating outside of time. But don’t get sore at yourself if none of this rings a bell right away. Ringing bells are Personnel’s department.
